daslog Camped us again and was unimpressed:
On the memory thing, I'm just not as impressed as I used to be. I just expect "them" to keep progressing.
Actually he was the only one who cared enough to express his lack of caring, which is interesting. However apathy was not let down by the rest of the topics, since the only other topics to garner any thing resemble discourse was the anemic discussion of the GIBill and a robust discussion of the HDTV Article.
The vast majority of these comments could be summed up by cake:
Eh I don't really care what resolution my TV displays in. My current set is 1080p, but I didn't really buy it specifically for that feature. I had a gigantic 62" 1080i for a while and when I moved there was nowhere to put it. So I sold it and bought a 42" that has a bottom with 1" to spare to either side of the biggest non-ridiculously priced stand I could find. I don't pay for HD tv because I don't watch a lot of TV anyway, mostly movies, and I don't have a big HD movie collection currently so for me it's almost a useless feature.
Then again Rasputin had to wave his HD Peen around and chastise your author for not caring if it was 720P or 720I (I really *(&%& Don't)
I wrote:
Honestly, at 720i I stopped caring.
Rasputin latched on like a hooker at the RNC and chided me with:
720p, you heathen. 720i doesn't exist.
Dren Got all starry eyed at the following idea:
went to a lecture about 10 years ago and the guy speaking talked about the max. resolution the human eye could recognize and that we were very close to reaching it. I can't remember what that resolution is, but I guess it is known.
He went on to predict that the size of displays would get so small that eventually retinal implants could be produced to allow you to see images that look like real life mixed with ... real life.
This was more of a lecture on engineering methods and CAD advancements, so he was talking about being able to visualize parts, assemblies, buildings, etc. in real life environments.
Of course, most of us instantly thought "holodeck" and the great advancements to pron world-wide! Pron all day every day and nobody would know!!!
He's thinking of the pr0n applications in reality. Sure. Thats what he wants us to think. He actually wants to cure cancer, or waste it on building safer automobiles. We know all about you, Dren. The reeducation teams will be there shortly, assume the party submission position.
we now join the feedback thread in progress
