Rumor has it that it doesn't suck and that its better now than it was during Beta.
Hyped Up:
Fallout 3 continues to draw big hype but is the constant ramping up of expectations just setting gamers up for disappointment? (This is in regards to all games, not just Fallout 3)
The Pirate Bay Sails to the Top
The Pirate Bay has just entered the web's top 100 website metric, is now hanging out with 'legit' sites.

Age of Conan: first stab

Does it suck? Does it not? Is the market so saturated that there is no real interest beyond the shiny effect?

daslog was camping the thread and laid down the law with:

1)People who buy MMOGs on day 1 deserve what they get.

And a quick Retort from Nicademus ... Or is it?

slog is a fucking n3wb

1.) If you don't join on the first day then you can't complain about how much better the game was until the devs sold out to the fucking whiny ass bitches and RUINED IT!

Internet lambastery!

Ark actually had hands on experience:

I played AoC on Day 1. Other than the original start time being pushed back a couple hours, there were no server outages, hiccups, client crashes, or lag of any sort.

Very, very smooth release, much to my surprise - also an incredibly fun game, so far, but as with all things subjective YMMV.

You, sir have obviously not hit the Raid Content.

Kvlt Got into the Raid content pretty quickly

The worst thing that's happened tech-wise on the early access weekend is that the mail/bank npc in the first city was disabled yesterday for "a minor technical issue" and supposedly will be back up today. The only other technical thing I've noticed so far is one quest dispenser npc who has breasts clipping through her dress. Oh, and I guess sometimes the client crashes if I tab out while it's loading and then walk away from the computer for half an hour.

and then he added...

I have been assured that the npcs who are intended to be topless start showing up once you're out of the starter city.

Stormwaltz pretty much topped anything I could say about the clipping boobs:

In AoC, that's not a bug, it's a feature.

*rimshot*

The forum quickly devolved into a discussion on the Virtues of the ford focus, a vehicle of no redeeming value yielding no deep insights into the universe. I am forced to conclude that

Hyped up:

I think Nicademus provided a good example of how Developers build anticipation and run the risk of not delivering on the goods.

2.) Speaking as someone who jacks off to visions of FO3 on a daily basis, I'm kind of worried. They won't be including in game text descriptions of items. The head dev guy said he wants his graphics to be so r33t that you can SEE what used to be described. Half the fun of FO (for me at least) was the sardonic descriptions of everything in the world. How do you animate sardonically exactly? I'm afraid it will rob the game of a lot of its depth.
But they may massively surpass my fears, and even a decent shooter set in that world would be more than worth buying. I just think it's setting them up for a huge fall to hope and pray that this new version will be an instant classic like the originals.

I am Looking at YOU Peter Molyneux.

The Pirate Bay Sails to the Top

Daslog was again very to the point.

3)It's still piracy.

Kvlt was stunned:

3. I am amazed it's taken so long. The fact that Yahoo holds a place on this list reaffirms my suspicion that most of humanity is so alien to me as to render actual communication impossible. I cannot figure out why anyone would ever touch most of the top 100, but TPB? Clear use. I don't expect its presence there to change much.

Pretty much everyone could give two shits about a Donnie Darko re release.
