E3 Warmup: One for the Peons Posted Friday, April 30, 2004 by Mr. Rasputin
E3's coming up. What do you the non-going people want to see?
Pictures of booth babes? Yeah, I'll oblige, not hard. What are the important questions? The ones that burn like Ray's pecker after he pees?
Bug the Infinium guys? Harass Lum? Play Pin the Tail on the Furry? Poke the VosX?
I could certainly go for a game of Kick the Caeron; they were there two years ago. They were all dressed the same. Looked like Jerry's Kids out for a walk. Maybe this year they'll get a booth in Kentia, who knows?

A Dearth Of News To Match The Dearth Of Talent Posted Monday, April 26, 2004 by Mr. Poppinfresh
As is my yearly, ritualistic duty at this time of year, it is my sad burden to inform you, our dearly beloved reader, of the annual Great Pre-E3 Blackout. For those of you new to The Corporation, this is what I describe each year as the great hush before the storm; storm, that is, of inconsequential press releases by every game-making company under the sun. Every morsel of information is withheld until the great orgy of mid-May, when a torrent of useless factoids bombard the inboxes of those malcontented social rejects unfortunate enough to call themselves 'videogame journalists'. It is not our fault, beloved reader, if the website becomes a little sparse in this time.
So, we'll all just have to wait two more weeks to hear about the re-re-release of Math Blaster, and in the meantime will do our best to generate original content instead of relying on our warm and cozy standby, El Presso Releaso Regurgitado.

The Corporation Accosts Dragon Claw Studio Posted Saturday, April 24, 2004 by Mr. Ray
Mr Galt and I sat down with some of the folks from Dragon Claw Studio in early April, who are responsible for FaitH to get a small insight into what makes them tick, as well as what sets them apart from the rest of the MMOG community. What follows is a summarized version of that conversation, with the IRC chat log available soon for the truly masochistic among you. ---

And all that water! How the noise from your insides sloshing around doesn't drive you mad, I have no idea.
Promise: I return soon. If you displease me, I will meditate while you are being electrocuted. I find it most soothing.
Fact: According to Gamefront.de, a German gaming website, Star Wars, Knights of the Old Republic 2 is on its way. As you might have guessed, HK-47 is back too.
Addendum to the Update: Important XBOX Live news. ---

MMOG Roundup: Depressing 2004 Edition Posted Thursday, April 8, 2004 by Mr. GBob
Back in 2000, Scott “Lum the Mad” Jennings posted a roundup of the current state of the MMOG industry. It was a simple time. One only had to pay attention to the three games that had been released, and only a few more that were in beta stage. Ah, how different the world was. Internet stocks seemed like a good investment, people didn't ram airplanes into our skyscrapers, the career of George Michael seemed over and the realm of online gaming was where magic happened. The industry was unstoppable. To publish an online game was to gain a license to print free money.
Four years later, the future isn't really bright enough to be wearing those shades. ---

SWG: THE WHINERS STRIKE BACK Posted Monday, April 5, 2004 by Mr. StackedMidgets
Well not really, aside from a mild upsurge in “OMG I QUIT” forum posts on the server boards. What’s of greater interest is the movement of some of the more prominent SWG PvP guilds moving to the Lineage 2 open beta, citing the anemic level of attention that the developers have been devoting to the “Galactic Civil War”. It’s understandable why players might feel a little out of the loop. Even though it has been said many times over that PvP and other, as-yet-to-be-announced forms of player conflict would be the central focus of the game, SOE has failed to communicate to the players what they’re actually thinking of doing. ---
