Yeah, everybody's heard about EA gangraping the ESPN-Sega football franchise from various other outlets. Sega's response was pretty concise. Take-Two called it "a tremendous disservice to the consumers and sports fans whose funds ultimately support the NFL."
The fun part starts when peoples' gears start turning in their heads and they get really, really good ideas, like taking two good franchises and putting them together. ---

So we've all played San Andreas and Halo 2 a least a little, or you have if you're interested in the newest, most awesome stuff there is. Also deserving of inclusion is Counter-Strike: Source and the rest of Half-Life 2, the game I never believed would come out, ever. I thought Valve would just fold up and go away inexplicably like a 2004 Looking Glass. I thought the Bungie people were right, that there really wasn't a way to consistently make money and go on making great games relatively independently from your local Electronic Arts Sweatshop Games and the other boys down at the money factory. The hackers versus suits war is on in full force, and unless you count independent breast deformation point records a technical tour de force, the suits are winning. Or are they? ---
