The Corporation's Legal Policy

DISCLAIMER

The Corporation makes fun of people, places, things, ideas, concepts, tradition, god, love, democracy, money, communism, socialism, dictatorships, John Romero, tufted wood nymphs, computers, games, computer games, people who use computer games, people who read online publications other than The Corporation, people who do not read The Corporation every single day, game developers, programmers, ourselves, small countries, large countries, other corporations, other web sites, current events, history, things we find amusing, long lists, legal documents, Latin abbreviations, etc.

In other words, if we make fun of you, don't take it personally.

We use the real names of public figures. We also use fabricated names. If these fabricated names happen to coincide with someone's real name, it is totally coincidental.

PRIVACY POLICY

In order to demonstrate our commitment to your privacy, we have chosen to disclose our information practices, including what information we gather about individuals who visit our Web sites, how we use that information, and when, how and to whom we disclose that information.

This privacy policy describes the privacy practices for The Corporation Entertainment Group, Ltd., its subsidiaries (collectively, "The Corporation") and its Web sites. (The Corporation Gaming News is a subsidiary of The Corporation Entertainment Group.) This policy does not apply to other sites; other sites maintain their own privacy policies which you should read if you want to learn about how other sites protect your privacy.

The Corporation does not collect personally identifiable information about individuals except when they specifically provide information on a voluntary basis. This personally identifiable information may be gathered during registration for forums, participation in community settings (like the forum), participation in polls, participation in special events, purchase transactions, registration for contests or sweepstakes, and at other times.

Personally identifiable information about individuals will not be sold or transferred to unaffiliated third parties without the approval of the user when the information is collected.

The Corporation also collects non-personal information and data automatically through the standard operation of The Corporation’s Internet servers, through the use of "cookies" or through the use of Web statistics packages. This information is provided in the aggregate so it cannot be used to determine anything about a particular individual user. This information may include but is not limited to the version and type of the user’s browser, platform, screen resolution, screen color depth, Javascript version, how the user got to the page, how often the user comes, and when the user’s last visit was. Again, this information is seen in the aggregate and does not give any information about a specific identifiable individual.

The Corporation reserves the right to perform statistical analyses of user behavior and characteristics in order to measure the popularity of different sections of the site. The Corporation also may share aggregate data with advertisers in order to help them assess the degree of exposure their ads are receiving.

The Corporation cannot control the use of cookies or the resulting information by advertisers or other third parties hosting data for The Corporation. Most Web browsers have a feature that when activated allows the user to accept or deny cookies at the user’s discretion. It is important to note that cookies may be necessary to provide the user with certain features available at The Corporation’s Web site.

The Corporation reserves the right to contact individuals regarding matters relevant to the underlying service and/or information collected.

The Corporation reserves the right to exchange some the collected information with business partners who offer co-branded services as part of The Corporation.

If ever The Corporation believes that it is necessary to share any information collected for the purpose of a good faith attempt to protect the rights and property of The Corporation and/or others, The Corporation may share information collected with the necessary individuals and/or organizations. The Corporation may also share any information collected if doing so is required by law.

The Corporation reserves the right to use your e-mail to send you promotional information. Any user can send a message to privacy@corpnews.com if he or she wants to stop receiving promotion-related e-mail and/or other promotion materials.

The user may also send a message to privacy@corpnews.com if he or she would like to alter or update any personal information The Corporation may have, or if the user wishes to be deleted from The Corporation’s databases. In the event that a user wishes to be deleted from The Corporation’s databases, The Corporation will use commercially reasonable efforts to functionally delete the user and his or her personal information from its databases. It may be commercially unfeasible to delete all of the user’s personal information because of backups and records of deletions.

Users should note that when they voluntarily disclose information about themselves on publicly available sections of The Corporation’s Web sites, they are potentially releasing personal information to individuals or organizations beyond The Corporation’s control. This may result in unsolicited messages. While such activities are not condoned or endorsed by The Corporation, they are beyond our control.

The Corporation uses reasonable precautions to keep the information disclosed to us secure and to disclose such information only to third parties we believe to be responsible. However, we are not responsible for the actions of any third parties which may receive the information.

The Corporation is not intended for users under 13 years of age. The Corporation complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and does not permit registration by and will not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under 13 years of age.

The foregoing policies are effective as of June 2nd, 2000. The Corporation reserves the right to change this policy at any time. If the user is interested in The Corporation’s privacy policy, it is recommended that he or she check the policy periodically for updates. Changes will be posted to this page. The policies outlined herein are not intended to and do not create any contractual obligations or legal rights in or on behalf of any party.

The Corporation reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, and in such case, you agree to cooperate with The Corporation's defense of such claim.

The Corporation reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to restrict, suspend or terminate your access to all or any part of the Service, including the forums, at any time for any reason without prior notice or liability. NEITHER THE CORPORATION NOR THE THIRD PARTY CONTENT PROVIDERS AND THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ERRORS, OMISSIONS, OR MISTAKES ON THE PART OF THE USER, WHETHER IN ATTEMPTING TO DETERMINE WHAT CONTENT IS FABRICATED AND WHAT CONTENT IS NOT, OR OTHERWISE. THE SERVICE AND THE CONTENT ARE DISTRIBUTED ON AN "AS IS, AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. IN SUCH STATES, THE LIABILITY OF THE CORPORATION, THIRD PARTY CONTENT PROVIDERS AND THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

UNLESS DUE TO WILLFUL TORTIOUS MISCONDUCT OR GROSS NEGLIGENCE, THE CORPORATION (AND ITS AFFILIATES) AND THE THIRD PARTY CONTENT PROVIDERS AND THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY IN TORT, CONTRACT, OR OTHERWISE (AND AS PERMITTED BY LAW, PRODUCT LIABILITY), TO THE USER AND/OR ANY THIRD PARTY.

The rights and obligations under this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Pennsylvania excluding its conflicts of law rules and United States law and international treaties governing copyrights. The application to this Agreement of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is hereby expressly excluded.

If any inconsistency exists between the terms of this agreement and any additional terms and conditions posted on the Service, such terms shall be interpreted as to eliminate any inconsistency, if possible, and otherwise, the additional terms and conditions shall control.
