So two days are behind us. What say you, o' masses of internet punditry? For moi?

Journeyman, Heroes and Chuck are a great trifecta. Heroes will take a few to ramp up, I'm sure, but it's gonna work. The other two started off great. I expect awesome in the future.

Reaper was funny. If they keep on the goofy side it'll be fun to watch.

Big Bang Theory is insipid and insulting. Guess what, the nerds as socially inept buffoons thrown in with the dumb (but not as dumb as she seems) hot chick is not funny.

How I Met Your Mother is still funny. Even if Willow got frumpy.

I didn't get a chance to watch the Bones premiere yet, but it's a slightly above-average procedural. You either watch it or not - no value judgment there.

This actually surprised me a little. I was kind of expecting it to suck, but it held it's own.

I was actually thinking the same thing. But I'm sure if I watched more television I might get hooked on some of the new shows.

Jimmy Smitts' new vehicle, Cane, was sorta interesting. Not really what I expected. If I watch it will be only because something in the schedule fell out.

The Unit premiere was interesting (and a 2-parter) so we'll have to see how far the shark jumps. I did like the show though, I hope they don't bend it over too far.

As for too much TV? Insomnia + DVR.

Whoop. Of course replace "DVR" with "Download online". I like to think of it as the thinking man's DVR.

Bones was good. For what it is. It's a straight up genre piece, but it entertains.

Heroes was slow to start, but considering what they wanted to do this season.....it would be. Not "Normal people becoming extraordinary" but "extraordinary people living normal lives". That isn't going to have as much kick as the other way around. They hit some interesting points, and I honestly didn't see that Kensai thing coming.

Journeyman and Chuck had solid starts....I think I give the edge to Journeyman. It's at least SLIGHTLY easier to see where Journeyman can go from there. I mean, Chuck? It's been 4 years, how are those secrets in your head still relevant? Chuck did have Captain Awesome though, and I respect the hell out of anyone that would play that part.

House had some of Heroes problem, in that a lot of the dynamic is changed up on you....but I liked it. He got to fuck around with Wilson for an entire episode, and most of that Dr. Buffer stuff was just hilarious.

i liked gossip girl

And I guess that's it. Or at least all I can remember for now.

Journeyman
Reaper
Dirty Sexy Money
(Peter Krause vehicle, probably won't stay on TiVo, but got to try it out of loyalty)

(Italics = Haven't watched yet)

Sarah Silverman Program (how such a hot, funny woman can date a douche like Kimmel is beyond me)
Curb Your Enthusiasm
The Office
The Shield (what's the over-under on Shane surviving?)
Prison Break (starting to get stupid. Long sleeve shirts in Panama? A South American prison that the guards have given up on? C'mon, South America don't roll like that)
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

On Netflix:

Smallville Season 6
Jerimiah
Dexter
Supernatural
Battle Star Galactica 3

Tried and Hated:

Flash Gordon (soooo bad, must suck for the star to go from a show like Smallville that has good production values to that embarrassing crapfest)
Tell Me That You Love Me (more sack showing than at a Brady family picnic)
Big Bang Theory (waste of fucking time, I'd have enjoyed being fisted by an orangatang more)

Eagerly Anticipating:

True Blood, new Alan Ball (6FT Under) project about vampires for HBO

Hey Boog, try not to fuck any of this up for me, ok?

1. I always mean to start watching this show but I always seem to forget about it when Wednesday night rolls around. I've liked the stuff I've seen of it though.

2. Kimmel landed her by being more successful initially. He then helped push her career on his show, with several appearances just for shits & giggles, and including plugs for Jesus is Magic and her new show. Prior to getting with Kimmel her biggest part to date was a one-joke bit part in There's Something About Mary.

3. I also forgot to mention ATHF and Robot Chicken, both of which I'll watch anytime I see they are on. However, it's pretty rare I catch either one as I don't typically just channel surf.

4. I freely admit I'd probably watch more TV if I had a TiVo.

Bring the noise.

Downloading takes work, even with "TED". The DVR tapes in HD, has 2 tuners and easily lets me add/remove from "always tape" status while I'm watching an episode. Downside, it cost me 9.99$/mo to "rent" from Charter. It's the one service they offer that's worth a shit, honestly.

I taped DSM last night, I'll watch it today. I, too, am a fan of Krause.

The Prison Break premise needed to be a 1-season show. Seriously. It would have generated a TON more media buzz for "only doing one season, no matter what!" and could have gone out on top. Too bad. I've been a Purcell fan since John Doe.

Flash Gordon is horrible. Even the cute girl-next-door girl can't save it. I pray that the retooled Atlantis will not suck as bad as the original Atlantis. This season has more Kaylee and, obviously, more Carter.

Eureka is still wonderful. It's the best show on a network that doesn't have new BSG or Dresden. Sorry Dr. Who, I like you, but not quite as much as the Sheriff of geniusville.

Eureka has been kicking ass and taking names, but it started awhile ago. I didn't know if it quite counted for "Summer Shows".

Dirty Sexy Money didn't suck. Nor did Boston Legal, if you ever liked it. It's a very.....niche show, but it appeals to a certain set.

NBC is working hard this year even though I think their Monday schedule opposite MNF is retarded. Yeah, football in on ESPN on Monday and not everyone has ESPN but I am still forced to chose between NBC's solid lineup and NFL football. I can't be the only person who likes Heroes AND MNF. (yeah, yeah, DVR, I know)

The NBC Wednesday shows surprisingly did not suck either. The new Bionic Woman has potential if they can trim down on the shitty villian dialogue. Seriously, some of the things spouted by the heavies was nails-on-a-chalkboard bad. I'm also not thrilled with the acting of the new Jamie Summers, she just seems... vacant. Maybe she is supposed to. I will say that she has much more spine then she did in the previous series and her handlers are MUCH darker and more serious. Starbuck plays a crazy prototype bionic woman who wasn't happy with how little was replaced and has gone AWOL and started upgrading herself. Chief from BSG also makes an appearance in the episode. Inflation is also a bitch, apparently this bionic woman cost $50 million.

Life was a big surprise. The comercials really don't do it justice and it had me laughing out loud a couple of times. There is this whole "is he or isn't he crazy" thing going on with the main character who was a cop who spent 12 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. There were scenes where he talks to a dog, tells someone in convincing fashion that he hates cops when he is a cop, follows his ex-wife's new husband around town harrassing him, and just generally acts unpredictable. I don't know if it will last or not but the first episode was a lot of fun.

Mad Men is still awesome though the awesomeness has worn off slightly as I've gotten used to the setting and character behavior.

New season of Frisky Dingo and Metalocalypse. All new Adultswim episodes are available on-line at Adultswim.com on Friday evenings even though their TV premeire is on Sunday night. Adultswim.com is a great way to waste time on-line.

The MLB playoffs are right around the corner, thats the really the only thing I'm looking forward too.

I will watch the "Next American Iron Chef" competition, some NFL games, and some other crap. I've just never been a prime time television kinda guy.

When is The Wire starting again?

Watched House yesterday. Will continue to do so. The GF will watch Desperate Housewives. But we need to find a new series that really will hook us. Preferably with a season or two already aired, so you can binge-watch three episodes in a row when you feel like it.

(Like now - I have a bad cold, but still have enough energy to get bored if I do absolutely nothing.)

DSM was great right up until the end. The last 5 minutes changed the direction of the show to something that seems lesser than what it was for the first 40. The talent is there and the writing seems smart, so we'll see what we see.

Bionic Woman was good, but it seems too reminiscent of BSG. Not just because the Chief and Starbuck were in the premiere, either. The style and pacing seem identical. This may or may not be a good thing. Again, time will tell. I sure do loves me my Starbuck. And Freckles is cute enough to keep my attention.

The Bones premiere was average. Nothing special. I go back to what I said earlier. If you like it, you like it, if you don't, you don't.

Any show I want to actually sit on the couch and watch gets DVR'd. I watch it late at night or during the day, afternoon, etc. MNF is on while I'm doing stuff like posting on forums or playing TF2.

Today being Thursday when I get back from volleyball there will be a new CSI and Smallville recorded, which I'm kinda nerdy about right now. Neither are new, of course, but Bizzarro+Supergirl and pretty much 100% of last season of CSI have me jonesing for new. Yes, the best CSI is still the original.

Unlike Law & Order. (new SVU on USA)

Going to watch CSI and ER later.

They've pretty much said Clark won't fly on Smallville.

And Supergirl gives me a Superboner.
