Who is Bill Bishop?

If DAOC has 100k subs still, that's still 1.5 million in revenue per month, or 18 mil per year. If the sale price is 30 to 50 mill, thats 2 to 3 times annual revenues, which seems Very Low to me. (I don't know what else mythic gets revenue from)

It's possible, but the numbers don't seem to add up.

It is indeed low, but that just means part of the rumor is untrue. I poked a friend at EA on the subject, and he very-off-the-record told me that something is indeed afoot, though what it is and whether or not it will go through remains to be seen.

If EA does buyout Mythic then that's the day I cancel my accounts. EA and SOE are two companies I refuse to give money to no matter how good their games are.

I'm not going to be one of these dipshits that complain about a company but still keep giving them money.

Does the edit mean we'll be seeing Mark Jacobs in a nighty?

The plot thickens. I can hear hrose shitting his pants in delight from here.

Anyway, I don't care if Mythic gets bought up. It's long past its fun date. A SWG revamp for DAoC sounds like a fun idea too, in a "jonestown mass suicide online" kinda way.

You'll have to join together with 2 friends from your own realm plus one from each of the other two to make pizzas in a giant contraption outside Camelot. You can then sell them to get copper pieces to make into small pots which you can then sell for real money.

Escort services will pop up as well, servicing human and Firbolg and Troll alike.

That got a lol out of me.

Makes me wonder if this one of the reasons that Lum left. Saw the writing on the wall perhaps?

I dobut it. Designer jobs are in short supply. That Lum saw the opportunity and jumped on it is far more likely.

Or that Lum and his family wanted to return to the southwest, as he said, and it just so happened that he found a great career opportunity out there as well.

Sometimes things just work out that way.

Bring the noise.
Cheers.............

He founded MarketWatch, sold it to Dow Jones and then moved to China. He became CEO of the China-based MMOG developer Red Mushroom in 2004. They're developing a MMOG called "Borderlands."

With a name like Red Mushroom you're lucky it's not a gang rape simulator.

I'd be more worried if it was called Red Tentacle.
